What “positive EV” means here
Positive EV, +EV and positive expected value describe the same idea: a payout that looks favorable under an assumed probability. PropGoat derives that estimate from eligible opposing reference quotes for the same line. It is a benchmark, not proof of the true chance of winning. A positive-EV bet can lose, and an apparent edge can disappear if the model or quote is wrong.
For example, a hypothetical 50% chance and +110 offer produces +5% estimated EV before fees. That is not a 5% win probability. See the reproducible math and free EV calculator.
Odds Edge: compare the same bet across books
- Compare sportsbook offers by league, game, player, market, side and line.
- Choose target books and visible columns. Sort by EV and constrain the target odds range, minimum EV and reference market width.
- Keep independent reference results, or use optional weighted Consensus with coverage, required-book and agreement settings.
- Review the advertised best eligible price beside the reference-derived fair price. Known fees affect EV; displayed odds remain the advertised price.
- Mark placed selections to hide them on Odds Edge. Eligible legs remain available separately in Parlay Builder.

How the reference calculation works
Each usable two-sided reference pair must match the line. PropGoat removes the reference margin proportionally: divide each implied probability by the sum of the opposing implied probabilities. Independent mode evaluates qualifying references separately, so a market need not have coverage from every selected book.
Weighted Consensus combines usable de-vigged probabilities using your positive weights, normalized across contributing references. Coverage and required-book checks must pass; the target book is excluded from its own blend. Both the blended EV and your minimum count of references individually meeting the EV threshold must qualify. More books do not automatically make the estimate accurate, and their prices may be correlated.
Pinnacle is the default reference. Other selectable references include Novig, ProphetX, Kalshi, BookMaker and Circa when usable coverage exists. Missing opposing prices, unsupported push lines, reference-quality issues or unverified fees can prevent an EV estimate. A comparison quote can remain visible without qualifying for ranking.
Parlay Builder: bring eligible legs together
Select a supported sportsbook, then narrow by league, game or player. The builder uses your Odds Edge EV and price settings. Review each selection and its reference context before opening a supported slip link.
Combined EV is a baseline assuming independent legs and standard multiplied odds. It does not model same-game correlation, the book’s adjusted parlay payout or every fee. PropGoat never submits the wager. Slip transfer support varies by book, device, market and location; a link may open a book without adding every selection. Check every leg and final payout.
DFS Edge: compare player-prop lines
Choose a target such as PrizePicks, Dabble, Underdog, Sleeper or another covered DFS platform. Compare its line with peer lines and available sharp-book references, sort by the raw stat gap, and set minimum gaps for each stat. DFS Edge does not calculate payout-adjusted EV or claim a win probability from the line gap.
Verified slip handoffs are limited to supported platforms and links. The mobile-first setup guide explains the current controls and limitations.
Freshness, access and practical limits
PropGoat publishes collected snapshots, not an executable live price stream. Short-term games and all NFL games refresh frequently; later games target a slower, roughly 30-minute cycle. Collection delays and upstream lag can occur. Check the age for the games on your DFS page and verify the current line, odds, fees and settlement rules inside the sportsbook or DFS app.
Book coverage changes. A listed offer does not establish that you are eligible to bet, that the price accepts your stake, or that the book is available where you are. Set your own sportsbook location in your account; books perform their own eligibility and physical-location checks.
Start with a repeatable comparison
- Choose the books and columns you actually use.
- Check a matching two-sided reference and your odds, width and EV limits.
- Review the exact player, line, side, date and settlement rules.
- Confirm the current offer at the book and stay within a budget you can afford to lose.
